Schlüter Compact 850 V | Picture made by Schluterfan

Minicab Schlüter! With number 628 on the picture of the baureihe 802, this is one of the last Compact 850Vs that left the factory. It is remarkable that Schlüter installed engines with the numbers 630, 631 and 632 that had cylinder buses with a bore of 112. Schlüter connoisseurs associate the 112 bore with engines used in tractors with a Special sticker on the bonnet. This was not the case with these 3 tractors. After the production of these 3 tractors, Schlüter most likely decided to also bring a Compact 850V Special to the market. He also got his own baureihe, 803. Numbers 633 to 641 received engines with the original 110 bore cylinder buses. Afterwards, Schlüter pulled the plug on the production of the 3 and 4 cylinder engines and purchased engines from M.A.N. After the last Compact 850V Special was built, this tractor was replaced by the 950V6, with M.A.N. 6 cylinder. The regular 850 remained in production for a while until the early 83. From then on, the 950 was the lightest Schlüter in the range, with 90hp! Also remarkable then was that the simultaneously imported 1050 with 100 hp sold better. For Schlüter it was clear that they were concentrating on the tractors of 100hp and more. That the demand for compact 6 cylinder tractors was already high, it turned out that afterwards there were also 1150's (110hp), 1250's (120hp) and 1350's (130hp) on the market, with a similar engine, but with turbo. With the exception of the 1150, all Schlüters from the Compact series were also available with Load Switching in 1988. And the low roof on the tractor in this photo? That was an option in the early 80s, but became standard with the introduction of the 950, and that remained so until 93. The Cabin was also named Minicab. The low roof was not available on the Super's, Super Trac's and Profi Trac's. The lowered roof was also one of the landmarks how you could tell the difference between a Super and a Compact.
