Twenty new Krone trailers for Welsi International carrier Welsi, a company that specializes in special assignments, express transportation and warehousing, recently added twenty new Krone trailers to its fleet. According to general manager Geert Schoolmeesters, some of this is replacement and some is expansion. "Brexit or no Brexit, for us the United Kingdom remains an important destination and we have therefore decided to redesign our trailer canvas," Schoolmeesters explains. Interestingly, both hands depicted on the sail, that of the EU and that of the United Kingdom, help each other and neither is the superior party. The new sail was designed by Arton of Venlo. Schoolmeesters finished five of the new Krone trailers in these colors, like the mega trailer in the photo. These are further equipped with side boards, aluminum planks placed horizontally and a reinforced headboard. "The advantage of the Krone megatrailer for us is that there is a slot running along the loading floor, where steel loops for lashing straps can be secured in any position," Schoolmeesters explains. He secures the rear doors with an additional, distinctive lock that protects against climbers climbing in. Fire Department Welsi has a fleet of eighty trailers used primarily on trips to and from the British Isles. Schoolmeesters plans to keep the fleet more or less stable at about eighty trailers. Almost all of the trailers are supplied by Krone. That makes Welsi significantly smaller than the large fleets that send many trailers back and forth between mainland Europe and the United Kingdom. "We don't compete with them either. We are a kind of fire department of their shippers: What has to be fast and specific, we do. Perfect service is our business model. Doing more and being able to do more than others, that's what we're all about. When a customer needs several trailers at a specific location at short notice, we respond to that with lightning speed," Schoolmeesters said. He explains that his company has a large group of seasoned drivers who find it a challenge to have to go to different places. "In the automotive industry, too, we are becoming better known as a logistics problem solver. In doing so, customers can dispose of our warehouse capacity or we otherwise arrange to help the customer out of logistical problems." Krone "Trailers from Krone I have been using for some time and once again this brand was able to respond to the unique trailer canvas I wanted. The fact that delivery could be made on time is very important to us. The trailers meet all requirements of durability, robustness (ferry on and off) and safety, especially where load securing is concerned. Whatever the outcome of the Brexit negotiations, we are ready for it!"
