Schlüter Oldtimers van Schluterfan

Schlüter Oldtimers | Picture made by Schluterfan

At the request of some TF'ers... Took a picture from the book "Das ist Schlüter". This booklet had long been on my wish list for my collection. Finally got it in my possession. On the picture you can see 2 pages from the book. Photos from the former engine production. In the good times Schlüter had about 5 to 6 people who were already busy with testing and adjusting the engines. And all types mixed together, from the smallest 3 cylinder to the largest 8 cylinder in the early 70s. Schlüter had his own foundry, which was closed in I thought 1991. The investment in a new foundry was so high that it was decided to close it. As long as there were still engine blocks and parts in stock, engines could be assembled. They still kept this up until '93, when the curtain fell on the entire tractor production. On the rightmost photo page you can see another activity of Schlüter, namely the assembly of their motors in power groups. In addition, their motors were also used to drive water pumps. Remarkable about the photo at the top right is the production of 3 8 cylinder flow groups. Schlüter himself had such a motor with generating set in the warehouse. Ding came out for the power supply of, among other things, the chicken roasting truck during the Schlüter Feldvorführungen :D. These engines were tuned to 97 hp and ran a maximum of 1500 rpm. Whether there are more of these types of setups is not known to me. It is true that Jensen had one on sale a few years ago. Whether that was the stationary engine of the factory, which had engine number 810 005, is (still) unknown to me. Also, 6 Schlüter 6 cylinder turbo engines left the factory between 1970 and 1987 that served as idle engines. One of them is known to me and once served as a backup in a food factory, where it was built on a water pump. That water pump mainly served when a fire broke out in the factory. When that factory sold the engine, there were 225 hours on the clock. Either the factory has often been on fire, or the pump has also been used for other purposes ... . And not in the usual grey Schlüter colour, but in blue. I also found such a blue engine in a Schlüter Super 1500TVL...
