I will never forget the first time I saw a Hesston 'Jumbo' 7730 in person and was immediately sold on it. It must have been somewhere around the age of 13 when, on a Sunday in September, I saw two such giants at work nearby! Along with those two were some six Same Laser tractors with Dewa silage trailers. Presumably this machine was among them, because it was contracting company Vervinckt from Belzele(B) that I saw working at the time. The contracting company swore by Hesston harvesters at that time. At their peak, there were about five of them on their yard. About ten years ago, the contracting company stopped and they got rid of the harvesters. So now we end up with this Hesston 7730 that is still happily chopping in the year 2020. These farmers have also sworn by these chippers for years, so much so that they already have five of them standing in the yard. One for grass, one for corn, one as a spare and then two more choppers as a donor. The farming family then also has the necessary transportation capacity to haul off all the corn in a timely manner.
