Today I started the engine. All went smoothly I must say, in a little 4 hours everything around the engine was disassembled and the cylinder heads were next to the engine. Once the cylinder heads were off, I could already see partly how the condition of the engine is. To my great surprise, the engine appears to have been converted on 110 bores! Originally he left the factory with 108 bores, that is also stated in the Maschinenkarte. Most likely, the French have already overhauled the block. The reason that 110 is now built in can only have 2 causes, either the French owner wanted a bit more to arrive on the PTO (fortunately the fuel pump still kept its original adjustment ...), or there were no 108 pistons and bushings available at that time. I revise the engine anyway, and everything that needs to be new, new in it. Only I'm not sure yet whether I'll install 108 bushings and pistons, or 110 again. Maybe even listen to what the price difference is. I also saw at a bus, that the combustion left much deeper traces on the bus. Either a piston ring is missing there, or I have a weird problem... That will show itself later... Also, 2 pistons have stamps of the exhaust valve in it. Whether this comes from the past, or whether this is also the case now, is also a question mark... Will undoubtedly be continued again!
