august 29, 2019 Photo of an Amac E2 harvesting peonies We propagate the peony by digging up the roots and splitting them. I think these are about 5-year-old plants we had left in an old field. We had sold these undivided in cubic crates to a buyer near Schiphol Airport. It was bone dry. We had previously harvested with the Amac. That went well, except that the discharge belt was not wide enough to let the large root tubers through. A lot of the flights were bent, which we then reoriented and immediately replaced the canvas in the drain. So the drain was like new again and we wanted to keep that xo. To still be able to harvest the Peonies, we took the drain off and started to harvest this way with the telescopic handler behind it. This worked out well.
