August 6, 2022 Photo of a Manitou MLT 634 120 LSU with DIY old crane box. The telehandler is used much less than the previous one. All the clean-up work in and around the yard has been a bit at a standstill in recent years. (Less staff). Also, I'm still not that handy with it myself. With the previous one, we had the joystick converted to Linde control. Because more and more people come to us who have already worked with a shovel or telehandler, we decided not to convert it. I myself have worked with it for maybe 4 hours since May and that is too little to become familiar with. Maybe next winter when scooping liatris or else in the spring when scooping potatoes. The Mercedes engine doesn't start as fast as the Perkins, which was also a slow starter. Here I use it to make the dams a bit flat, when there are 32 ground tippers per hour. And as a quad bike to occasionally commute between the crane and the kilverbak. The mirror on the towbar is handy. We have the crane box a bit for the rougher pushing and pulling. Especially creating soil and distributing land on the land. I don't dare with the Wifo. Partly grinding off the crane ears was a matter of a few minutes with such a thin grinding wheel. I have now become a fan of those thin grinding wheels. The gearbox is a 6-speed powershift with torque converter. The powershift, like the forward/backward, can be operated on the joystick. The cabin is also a bit wider than the previous one, so it is easier to carry a child in it and there is a bit more storage space on the left side. The tires are worn out, but I prefer to drive them as far as possible, because that is just a wear part with such a machine. All in all, a nice machine, which hopefully we can use for years to come.
