They remain impressive machines the Field Queen's. During our event, the Retro Harvest Day on 25 September in Aalter, there was again a Field Queen present. For such machines to be found in Belgium you have to search very well. The Field Queen's always attract a lot of people to such events. We found the chopper in question for the first time in 2015. The first owner of the chopper was contractor Bertrand Gobin from Beernem. After a few years, the machine moved to a family member of his, a farmer in erquelinnes in Wallonia, near the French border. In 2015, we caught sight of him with the farmer in question. When we received the concrete data, it turned out that the machine had already been sold. By chance I visited the erquelinnes area a few days later and found the previous owner with his 'new' chopper, a Claas 690. He managed to give me the details of the new owner. The machine went 50 km deeper into Wallonia with a contractor still enjoying his old age. A week later we could drive to Couvin, against Chimay. Not for the beer, but definitely for the Field Queen. A nice nice day for us. Until a few years later the Field Queen was sold back to a Flemish farmer in the region there. That in turn put him up for sale. In November, at an ' after corn party ' I met the last owner who offered the machine for sale. He told me that the machine had been sold and still in my area. When I asked where the machine was sold, he said: Oostwinkel. Then in the same municipality where I live! If that chopper could speak, he would first and foremost be bilingual, but he could also tell a lot of stories. He could also tell about his adventures on the Retro Harvest Day. Not only that a lot of people came to see the machine. But his first driver also came by to see his 'old' machine. It was a driver of the contractor where the chopper who immediately recognized the machine by, among other things, the sticker of tomalig seller Vanlanduyt from Beernem. So you can see that our event brings a lot of people together, not only visitors but also our participants forge for life. That makes us very happy and proud!
