Photo of a County 1164-40 and 1184-40 The Benson Group, the owner of County tractors, had received an order for 8 county tractors for the Falkland Islands, St Helena and Canada. SEM engineering was approached for assistance for this order. The aim was to redesign the county system on the Ford 40 series. I had explained this earlier on the prototype with the dummy front axle. SEM head of engineering Eric May (the designer of the Ford 7810) led the project. In the meantime, the order had been expanded to 10 pieces. In July 1995 the order for a mix of 4 and 6 cylinders was ready The two 1184-40 went to the Falkland Islands where 1 was burned out and demolished. The other has come back and is in the possession of the McLean family. The 1164-40 of which 8 were built is 1 back in England. This one came from St Helena. The other 7 are still missing.
