A little throwback to last summer. this photo is from august 15th. at that time we were silage a small 35 ha at a distance of about 10km. the grass was on the wet side (I estimate about 35% ds) so loading thick heads was out of the question. However, the loading went smoothly at about 15kmph with 35 liters of diesel per hour. that wasn't too bad. all ditch edges and ditches were removed with a tire on the mower. that in combination with a rake of 9 meters meant that we had 13 meters on 1 windrow. pressure change. because the grass was fairly heavy, the tires were getting quite a beating at 0.8. i could easily put a cup of water on the side of the tire. that is why we increased the pressure to 1 bar in the field. on the road we continue to drive at 2.5 bar. the compressor takes about 1 minute to inflate 6 tires.
