Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 85 | Picture made by PieterA

June 8, 2023 Photo of a Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 85 mk2 with Monozentra 12-row beet seeder. Pictured because it had never happened before that I was still sowing beets in June. And not even overseeded because the first time failed. So here we are just sowing for the first time. It's a spot of about 0.2 acres that we couldn't get to earlier this spring. This was plowed before winter and when we burned off the plow cuts in late April I even got stuck with the sprayer. Never had that before in the spring. (Nor in the other seasons, for that matter). That had become a track 50 m long and 25 cm deep. In the middle of a field! With clay on peat you just have to be patient in the spring. Weed control was a tricky story. Such a plot in two. Yet it succeeded chemically this year; on this field I unfolded the sprayer a total of 13 times this season. Always watching carefully and applying small bits at a time. The kitchen cupboard on the back of the seeder has been there for about 7 years now. I could have thought of that 20 years earlier. 6 packs of beet seeds, measuring tape, knife, seed shovel, vacuum cleaner and about three more keys are always with me. The rest of the machine is I think about 60 years old. The only reason to replace it would be the low capacity. Now I had to seed a 12-acre plot, for example, and that would take 7.5 hours including folding in and out. Every year we sow about 40 hectares and that takes about 35 hours including transport.
