June 12, 2023 Photo of a New Holland T 7.165 with Steketee hoe. We had quite a bit of evening primrose in the seed onions. Chemically out of control, but not very big yet. With this hoeing machine we were able to get rid of about half of the weeds and it loosens the soil a bit more, which may be positive for the structure and fungi therefore have less chance to infect the onions. This was the first time we had the onions hoeed. I have no idea if it was worth the work; but I have a good feeling about it. The contracting company drives only Fiat and New-Holland. Often simple tractors with not too much fuss.
