"A Profi Trac doesn't always have to be big..." Whether you believe it or not, this beast has the full 160hp! It is the only, and for that matter smallest built Profi Trac ever built! The Profi Trac 1600TVL, that's what we're talking about here. However, it remained a prototype, but the thing is still worth discussing! Exceptional with this one is that it does not have a MAN engine, but a Schlüter SDMT 110 W6, which was also in the Super 1500TVL tractors of that time. I'm talking about 1978, the year the 5000 also saw the light of day. The gearbox also came from a 1500 and was combined with a steered rear axle, so it too could run at walking pace and was equipped with 4-wheel steering. With an empty weight of 9 tons, quite a heavy case in that horsepower class! This tractor was never really "discussed" in the "Schlüter milieu". After some searching on the net, I suddenly found myself in the archives of the Technical University of Munich. There were a lot of photos of Schlüter at that time, and it would not surprise me if they were photos from the archives of Schlüter itself... The Profi Trac 1600TVL did not go into production, but a few years later Schlüter did come out with a "Trac tractor" that was also represented in the 150hp class, namely the Super Trac 1600TVL. That tractor would later also have been the most built Super Trac ever.
