Photo of the flange and pulley of a Lamborghini 804 DT. The flange and pulley also have the function of filtering the engine oil so the oil filter never needs to be changed on this engine. The oil enters the flange and the centrifugal force pushes the dirt against the wall. The oil then goes back into the engine through a bore in the crankshaft. Every five thousand hours the pulley has to be disassembled once to get the dirt out (and that was quite a lot :D). Now I also disassembled the flange because the crankshaft seal needs to be replaced.
