photo from the book "from gear to chip" of agricultural mechanization. the hydraulic lifting device was a wonderful invention. it simplified the transport and height regulation of implements. a bottleneck was the coupling of implements: you had to position the tractor accurately in front of it and you had to get on and off the tractor a number of times. for this reason experiments were soon carried out, and still are today, with automatic coupling systems in which the driver did not have to get off the tractor, the best known being perhaps the accord quick coupling system.
