May 1 is a holiday in Belgium, the ' day of labor '. On this day, this farmer took his latest new acquisition out of the barn for some acres of physical labor. The farmer from Oostwinkel had been looking for a chopper to chop grass and corn himself for quite some time. In 2018, we organized in that same Oostwinkel the ' Retro Harvest Day ' with also a Field Queen there who came to demonstrate. A few weeks later, a Field Queen came up for sale on 2nd hand, the signal for the farmer to immediately spring into action. The machine, located in Couvin, Wallonia, has already had a long life with several owners. We were able to reconstruct the machine's path and the first owner led us to Wingene, West Flanders, with contractor Gobin. The latter then sells the machine after a few years to farmer Vandekerckhove from Erquilinnes (Wallonia, near the French border), who is related to Gobin. Around 2015, the farmer sells the machine to a contractor from Couvin, who does some contract work there with this machine and another Hesston chopper. We already visited this contractor in 2015 for an extensive photo shoot. Later, the machine was sold to a trader from Couvin, only to end up with this farmer from the East Flanders town of Oostwinkel, who turned it back into a real gem. Another little fact: the first Field Queen sold in Belgium at the time was sold to a contractor from Oostwinkel. More than 45 years later, the Field Queen is back home! You see, with every machine comes a story. Besides the machine, each story fascinates us enormously. That is our biggest motivation for our http://www.deoudedoos.be
