Fiat Meerdere van MMaarten

Fiat Meerdere | Picture made by MMaarten

It's this week's Belgian agricultural fair, Agribex. A fair with a whole history behind it. With our old box, we were able to delve into some archives and found a few pictures of a booth in 1953 and 1952. We fly in one line to Palace 2 of the Heysel, or better known as Brussels Expo. We jump in for a moment at the booth of the firm Goedewil De Lille, then Fiat importer from Maldegem (East Flanders). Back then, exhibitors were already not averse to doing one or another stunt. The Fiat tractor on their stand was a stand that was equipped with a reduction from an airplane propeller, allowing the tractor to rotate at one revolution per minute. Thus, potential customers could really see everything about this tractor from bottom to top. At that time, you could buy a 40-hp Fiat Someca for the price of 153,000 Belgian francs, or pretty much 3,793 Euros! You can find more at deoudedoos.be/ !
