Claas sf 80 | Picture made by MMaarten

When another oldtimer chopper comes along in the region, we are content and happy as a child if we can see it at work again. The owner of this chopper had a New Holland 1770 for this, which moved to Langdorp last year and there was chopping the oldtimer. The two came into contact with each other on our retro harvest day in 2018 and were already making plans. The former owner of the New Holland 1770, Gilbert Bulcke, had been looking for a Claas SF 80 chopper for years, if he found it, then the 1770 could go away. For example, it was already agreed if there was an SF, the 1770 could go to Langdorp. And so it happened, Gilbert found a Claas SF 80 a few kilometers from his hometown. No ordinary ones! But a chopper that was updated in the 70s by the tomalige owner. Through our old box we were able to find out that this chopper probably belonged to contractor Gerard Maesen-Viaene from Beselare. Gerard Maesen built the bunker himself after a few wet years, later a 4x4 was built on it. In 2020, this machine is now with Gilbert Bulcke and in turn chops at former contractor Maurice Lonneville. The mailbox already reveals that this contractor used to work with John Deere combine harvesters. Nowadays it is Maurice's son who continues the contracting business. The pieces of corn here were chopped by this chopper because they were pieces where there was little room for maneuver. More can be found on http://www.deoudedoos.be
