Jan. 30, 2021 Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 120 mk3. Every winter we give all tractors and other machines with an internal combustion engine a quick check-up. Check if all the lights still work, lubricate the grease nipples, clean and grease top stems and stabilizer. clean off neatly, polish the cab, clean windows, check fluids. If an older engine (before 1994) has run 250 hours or more, or a newer one (from 1995) 500 hours, or it has been 3 years, we change the engine oil and engine oil filter. If such a machine has passed 1000 hours or if it has been 3 years already, then it gets a major service: Front axle, final drives front and rear, hydraulics and swingarm get new oil and filters as well as new air filters and an air conditioning check. Of course, all defects are assessed and if I think it makes sense, we replace some worn parts. And sometimes, if we still have time, a machine is pampered a bit more. Then we have a hood painted or we walk around with a brush. The latter just happened with this Agrotron mk3. The tractor is now 21 years old and has run 12,863 hours, but it is still my favorite tractor because I feel it the best. It is a wonderful tractor for the trailed sprayer because it is tremendously strong low in rpm and because it is a 50-bucket limited to 44 mph it runs nicely at 1,700 rpm down the road.
