October 6, 2016 Photo of a Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 120 rotating newly ploughed land with the Kuhn rotor harrow. We have 2 rotor harrows. A Kverneland from 2014 and this Kuhn from the 90s. The Kverneland has a lift and turns a bit quieter. This Kuhn has a gearbox. He seems indestructible so far. He gets the ground very finely beaten. I think this is due to the high rpm of the rotors and especially because the plate behind the rotors is mounted shortly behind the rotors and cannot move backwards. Even last year we were able to make a good fine seedbed for onions and beets. It got finer than the base winch front cutter. Tires of the tractor can for this work at 0.4 bar. Here we have the DIY pressure roller in the front linkage. On the pressure gauge in the cabin you can read how much pressure you give on that roll. Usually we give so much pressure that the tractor is just easy to steer. After this operation, grass seed is sown. It is important to make sure that it is well flat and pressed everywhere after rotation, because the sowing is done with a single grass seed sowing machine of 6m without eg. The person who sows the grass seed can thus achieve a considerable sowing capacity.
