April 12, 2017 photo of a John Deere 6310 busy seeding chicory. Our contractor (contracting company Hage) has excellent machines for chicory cultivation. That's the main reason we don't sow chicory ourselves. Chicory seeding listens very closely. The cutting depth and fixing the seed in the ground comes very precisely. Also, in my opinion, phosphate must be applied in the row and a row sprayer with soil heebicide. All these requirements that sometimes also change makes making a chicory seeder profitable for ourselves a difficult story. Contractor Hage specializes in seeding and therefore has several 4-cylinders running for this work. This is one of their older machines, but in tiptop shape for the work they do with it.
