Schlüter Super 1800TVL | Picture made by Schluterfan

1800er! I had to do my best to find one in my archive, a Super 1800TVL at work... 1800's have a slightly less spectacular name in the "Schlüter milieu" than all other types. Because Schlüter got the most out of his 6 cylinder by mounting a turbo and an intercooler on it, the cooling was not really under control. Thermal problems and therefore also leaking head seals as a result... When Schlüter won an order in '84 to deliver 14 tractors to Saudi Arabia, there were also 3 Super 1800TVL's on the list. The tractors also had air conditioning with the extra equipment. Because the cooler was in front of the radiator, these tractors had an even harder time working in the poor conditions there. Factory mechanics provided the hoods at the top with additional air vents. In '86, the 1800 merged into 1800TVL Special. The difference was mainly in the 5hp extra at the end of the crankshaft. And in the options list appeared the High Speed. The 1800 was therefore the heaviest tractor that was available with this option. However, it soon became clear that the extra gearbox was not up to the high power. Schlüter built 3 Super 1800TVL Special's as High Speed. As far as I understand, all 3 were later converted to the regular version. Of the 3, there is at least 1 gray and 1 red. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the 3rd... Also about the momentary stay of the other 2 I am currently not known. Although I sometimes noticed that there was an 1800 in Luxembourg in forestry version, which was originally supposed to have been built as High Speed, only the evidence is another matter ... One of the High Speeds returned to the factory after a season of work. The owner, a contractor, complained about the fact that the tractor kept running hot. On Schlüter's advice, the tractor came back, in a pit in winter... Because the contractor wanted his tractor back quickly, "den Anton" took Karel Heinz Fischer, Schlüter's well-known test driver (that man pretty much :) my dream job), out of leave, to the annoyance of him and his family. Karel had to find out why the tractor was running hot. That was not easy, since the outside temperature in that period was usually around freezing. Karel accepted the assignment and hung a low-loader on the 1800 High Speed. Apparently there was a Profi Trac 2500 in the factory at the time, which he drove on the low-loader as weight. After a few rounds of Freising, some adjustments were made. He could still accept that Karel Heinz had to let go of his leave for this, but that the tractor had still not been picked up after a few months... Photo from 2017 again...
