Photo of a Petter AVA1. The name Petter will be familiar to many from the motorcycles. However, in a forge in a village in the south of the Netherlands, Diessen in Brabant, in the late 1940s and early 1950s, the idea arose to develop a self-propelled milk cart. With this motorized cart, the farmer could very easily transport the milk cans to and from the land to milk the cows. The engine built on it was the Petter. It also became the namesake of the somewhat popular milk cart from the forge of the van Dal brothers in Diessen. They were, to my knowledge, sold throughout the country. Today many are still in the hands of enthusiasts who have refurbished them including this one which belongs to someone from the Petter's hometown of Diessen. This one was on display at the oltimer section of the Baarschot annual fair. A "hamlet" that traditionally falls under Diessen( which since 1997 belongs to Hilvarenbeek, known for the Beekse Bergen). 17-07-2022, Baarschot( Diessen).
