Photo of a John Deere 6420, ensiling 2nd cut of clover together with the 3rd cut of Italian ryegrass. I had wanted to harvest about 2 weeks ago, but according to an advisor I had to wait a bit more, with rain they predicted there would be a lot more growing. No rain, and in the meantime received a few loads of straw, and so no time to ensile, but today was the day. The italian had lost all its seed and the clover had almost blossomed. Again a nice temperature predicted for this day (33 C), so in the morning we had mowed on large swath and actually immediately loaded with the pick-up truck. And at 12.30 there were 13 ha on the heap (5 wagons).
