Fendt 828 van Gavrie Willemsen

Fendt 828 | Picture made by Gavrie Willemsen

This week we went to pick up our 828 from the Abemec in Hoogeloon. Workshop chief insisted I come myself so he and the Mechanic in question could explain everything that had happened to it. During the repair itself, they contacted me a few times to discuss the state of affairs. I was given a sheet with 60 different described points that had been repaired. There were also a lot of leftovers from the previous owner because, as we know, he had not been very economical with the car. The biggest cost was a new catalytic converter. The front axle suspension was repaired and many wiring harnesses needed to be replaced. There were several hoods that were hanging loose on it as well as some unreliable sensors have been replaced. The entire cooling fin bearing had to be replaced as well as all the cooling pipes. We had engine oil in the cooling system. The lube oil line from the compressor was completely petrified and just broke into 10 pieces. The bill was not minus but that was clearly communicated. I left with a very good feeling with the flatbed trailer and now we can watch over the next few months how the 828 with just under 19,000 hours on it will hold up. In the canteen the guys are already making a list together of what still needs to be done on the 818 and the 916. In any case, it was a very good experience at Abemec. They have a chief workshop there who communicates very well with the customers....
