Photo of a New Holland T 6050 with beet seeder. Spring work finally started this week. Consisting of shallot planting and beet sowing. Planted 11 ha of shallots this week and sowed 6.5 ha of beets in between. The seeding of the beets is done with 2 rotor harrows in combination with the seeder in 1 pass. The pre-crop is potato land which is only worked with the power harrow after harvesting. We have been doing this the last few years and it works very well. Before sowing, we spread 350 kg of greenhouse per ha as a basic fertilizer. In season a little 16-0-30 will be added during growth.
