A little update on Sunday. A lot has happened in the last 2 weeks. Engine and gearbox are up against each other. Here you can see the 2 metal fuel tanks in wretched condition. They were once sanded through on the support and also patched back a bit. At the time, very thin steel was used so when welding, the tanks got all sorts of bellies and pulled muzzles. A welder in our own village is going to completely copy them in slightly thicker sheet metal to prevent that warping. They are going to Tig weld the tanks. The still usable parts he just grinds out. He also fears that the old buckets are full of rust so there is not much credit to be taken from them. Meanwhile, a lot of parts have gone to my brother for repair. A lot of grinding and welding needs to be done. From there everything goes to the blaster incl some of his own Renault parts. Meanwhile, also the well-known green primer has been ordered. Because my brother has quite some time left during the restoration of the Renault because he often has to wait for ordered parts, he would like to assist me in the restoration of the Schlüter. This way the money stays in the family as they say here...😅😅😅😅😅😅.
