"Das ist Schlüter!" The title of this little story is also a booklet Schlüter once published. There also seems to have been a promotional film made with the same title, something I didn't know yet.... (yah, I can't know everything! ;-) ). This photo, showing the "Electronic Schlepper" at work with a rather wide Rabe/Accord seeder was taken during the shooting of that film. The Electronic Schlepper is also better known as the Super 2200TVL with electric 8-speed power shift and 8 cylinder in line engine of 9.9liter and 210hp. This film was also made, I believe, because at the time, I am talking about 1983-84, Anton Schlüter was worried about the future.... Sales had dropped by almost half between 83 and 84! The factory may have come out of the 2nd World War unscathed, but modernization was not done at the factory, making it very outdated compared to other tractor factories. Finding a partner to build a new factory and foundry was not so simple, until Schlüter came into contact with BMW of Munich. But the plans for the new factory and foundry were not approved Because a modern-looking factory would not do the townscape of Freising any good! Schlüter did not have the money to build a new factory itself, partly because of the high development costs (Profi Trac e.g....). That's also why in the early 80s the Compact tractors got MAN engines I suspect. Not so striking in the picture, but still quite exceptional tractor in the background, a Compact 950TV with Schlüter 4 cylinder turbo, equipped with original Schlüter sunroof and wheel weights.
