Der Gelbe! There are brands that offer multiple colors as an option, there are brands that used to use colors to show iet, like e.g. an export version. Schlüter was among the both! The color mix first appeared at Schlüter in the late 1950s, when the brochure: Schlüter, die Welt ist Bunt! In it Anton announced, that you could buy the tractors in I think 5 different color combinations. With the introduction of the new S series, which started with the S350 and ended with the S900, the color palette was discontinued, and there were still 2 color combinations available. The standard pale green with beige rims, or in option the familiar red with white aluminum and beige rims. Remarkably, many buyers still went for the latter. A German once told me that his grandfather bought a new S450, and refused to pay 50DM more for a red Schlüter. Later perhaps not a bad choice, as greens are quite rare! Later, at Schlüter, green also became the color for the factory-delivered forestry tractors, which remarkably already includes some red ones.... And then, what about those yellow, silver gray, dark gray, redbordeaux and orange Schlüters???? The yellows were intended for the lignite mines. Originally, the first delivery of Schlüters at the mines was still sold in red. Fairly shortly thereafter, RAL 2004 came into view. And what I wonder? Why does this one in the photo still have the inside of the cab the silver, and some red shows up here and there near the roof? Were the tractors later put in yellow at Pfeiffer? This company in fact rebuilt the Schlüters to suit the needs of the lignite mines. However, there is a factory photo where a yellow Schlüter can be seen on Mr. Anton's premises. Who knows... And about the other colors, I'll write about that another time ;-)! By the way, the photo shows a Compact 1050TV, with Schlüter 4 cylinder turbo engine. This is one from the Baureihe 1002, of which I have not seen much during the time I can photograph Schlüters either! This is number 063 of the 99. And even nicer, with original Schlüter front linkage, still with the cylinders facing backwards! Photo taken in Nordhorn, year 2016.
