Photo back of a Bedford TK, built up for bulk transport of alumina powder or alumina for the purpose of aluminum production in Delfzijl. [ALDEL] Alumina or alumina powder is processed bauxite from which aluminum is extracted in Delfzijl. Fully hydraulically driven vehicle with pneumatically operated filling device. Designed for the aluminum plants at Delfzijl. [ALDEL] These vehicles automatically loaded the raw material - alumina powder - for aluminum production, and transported it from the filling station under the silo to the smelting halls and sprayed by air pressure the alumina powder into the electrolysis furnaces. Built: 3 units ca. 1965-1966 by ILPERA NV. Location: Zijperstraat 26 Alkmaar. ILPERA NV. was a.o. specialized in new construction and assembly of cleaning vehicles such as gully suckers, vacuum/pressure tankers, garbage trucks, street sweepers and special rolling-material. ILPERA NV. produced a.o. by means of assembly, from 1964 to 1971 under license from the company Asbrink from Malmö in Sweden, the VERRO sweepers, type: City I Mark IIIB.
