September 19, 2016 Photo of a Mullie T8. Purchased new in 1983 from profits! on wheat that year. You could choose single or tandem axle with an 8-ton tipper back then. Tandem axle was chosen because that seemed to be the future at the time. This chassis could also be delivered with a 10-ton chassis, but that had a longer body and then we could no longer unload inside the barn. We did put 2 boards on it right away. The water capacity went up to more than 13 cubic meters. One time it held 10 tons of winter wheat. After a year we were fed up with the fact that the cylinder was too small and it was exchanged at the factory for an 11-ton version. As it turned out, the balloon tires could not withstand that. Those were replaced with covered airplane tires. Then the rims started to crack. We solved that by welding an extra heart plate into each rim. In 1997, a 14-ton Breston was added. From then on, this was no longer the main tipper. Around 2005 we welded in a new bottom and gave it a paint job. From then on it became a fixed combination with the Deutz 6206. Both were on 1.50 track and it was therefore a nice combination to drive between the beds of potatoes or tulips to harvest the first rounds to make way for the larger tippers. We had 2 of those 1.5-meter combinations, but since we got rid of the potato harvester and we grow tulips in nets, we decided to get rid of 1 combination. The latter happened roughly in 2018.
