First of all, my best wishes for the new year. Our good intention for 2023 is to put even more old photos and films on our old box. As usual around the New Year we always bring you a nice series from the old box. This time we have chosen for a series of machine shop Vandaele from Oostrozebeke. Well known in Belgium for the Vandaele mowers, but also a celebrated Fiat dealer in the past. Today the company is split into the Vandaele mower and Vandaele Machinery, Vandaele Rental and VD Power. The companies are active in machine rental, sales of the full JCB range and rental and sales of power generators and light towers. But the stones of these companies were laid by Robert and Roland Vandaele. In 1981, they were also purveyors to the Ministry of Public Works. That brought a lot of work when the Ministry placed an order of 10 Fiat 780 tractors. According to the specifications, the tractors had to be specially equipped with a BRIL cab, which was specially designed for mowing with only one door that could be opened. Furthermore, they requested a long mowing arm of the brand Vandaele Bankmaster HD 1250 and a signaling board on the back of the cab. The last requirement of the bigwigs was that all this came in a new color, so everything was repainted in RAL 2000.
