The company Vandaele from Oostrozebeke (B) used to be a renowned Fiat distributor. It was also a purveyor to the Belgian government. They delivered no fewer than 79 Fiat 780 tractors for the Ministry of Public Works. Before the order of the tractors was placed, extensive testing was of course required. For the maintenance of the airfields of Defense, they had their eye on a Votex rotary mower, which was offered by Vandaele. The government did impose some conditions for the order they ordered. The tractors had to undergo some modifications. A front hitch and PTO were added by the Vandaele company. The photo also shows the two Vandaele brothers, Robert and Roland, providing the necessary explanations to the officers of defense. A beautiful photo if you ask me!
