This guy is an intern from Mas and has a good grasp of what to look out for when spraying. For the first time the tulips against virus-transmitting aphids, fungi and boron deficiency. You can tell by the shadows that the sun is about to set. Always wait for windless weather; this combined with a dry crop means that spraying is often in the evening. Despite the advanced age and many hours of both sprayer and tractor, I can still work it decisively. At 6:30 p.m. I then go to look up agents and record date, weather conditions, applicator machine nozzle, agents, per agent the target and the safety period. I check the cupboard to see if there are enough agents left for the next spray, if not I put that on an order list with the desired latest delivery date. Then around 6:40 p.m. I go to fill water and resources. At 19:00 I drive to the plot. At 19:15 I start spraying. Since we didn't plant a headland, I fold each round so the spray cans don't go over the road. At 19:45 the 9-hectare plot is sprayed. Then while driving over the crop I clean the sprayer with water from a separate clean water tank the sprayer and at 19:55 I fold the sprayer and drive home. Then at 20:10 I am sitting at the kitchen table with coffee.
