Tonight the protective cover for the v-belt was made on the tractor. With almost all Hatz tractors of this type, the protective cover of the v-belt is missing. This is also the case with this one. About two years ago I looked around for a while, until I came across one that he was still sitting on. That was in Germany and turned out to be near the holiday address where we would go a little later. The best man rented out old tractors for tours and so I could quite easily get in touch with him with the question if I could come by to measure the cap. We were very welcome and he also immediately told us that the cap was already in the back of the barn with him. The supports were much too thin and he kept falling off. That is probably also the reason that he misses almost all tractors. It was a pleasant evening and eventually we drove home with the original cap under our arm. It turned out not to be as straightforward a cap as first hoped, so it was still something of a puzzle. In the end, we only got the whole thing and had four cut. I had put three of them together and I was able to make the friendly German gentleman and two other fellow hobbyists happy with that. The fourth was still there in parts, so I put it together tonight.
